3 May - 7 June (6 Wednesdays) Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco Introductory Dance Classes at The Relay Town Hall 

Fundamentals of Southwestern Louisiana Dancing.  Partners are not necessary.  Class starts at 7:30.  $36 per person for the series or $7 per class.

Dance Instructors are Louisiana native Norm Helmold and Ilene Caplan.   Please register early at 301-985-7886, 410-242-8922 or 410-461-5314.  Class size is limited.  

The Town Hall will be open for warm-up from 7:00 to 7:30, class will run  from 7:30 to 8:30, and practice time will run from 8:30 to 9:00.

19 May (Friday) - The Canecutters at The Relay Town Hall 

Beginners dance lesson from 8 to 9; band plays from 9 to 12.  Admission is $10.  This is a smoke free environment.

The Canecutters (formerly the Zydeco Ramblers) play the dance-hall styles of Southwest Louisiana-zydeco, Cajun, Creole and country-Cajun music. With its twin fiddles and pedal steel guitar, the group evokes the older sound of such Louisiana luminaries as Cleveland Crochet and the Hackberry Ramblers and the Creole Zydeco sounds of Boozoo Chavis and John Delafose.

Beer, wine, sodas and Cajun snacks will be available for purchase.

28 May (Sunday) - Leroy Thomas  at The Relay Town Hall 

BIG NAME ZYDECO BAND COMING TO RELAY MD

Leroy Thomas is coming to Relay. A well known Louisiana Zydeco band will put  Relay on the dance map.  May 28, 2000, Baltimore, MD.  LeRoy Thomas and The Zydeco Roadrunners. at The Relay Town Hall, 1710  Arlington Ave., Relay, Baltimore, MD

"Fools Night Out" Zydeco dance with The Alligator Band from Philly, dance lesson from 8-9, band from 9 to 12. $10 admission fee. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Another web site says:  "The Alligator Zydeco band, out of Philadelphia, is  one of the busiest Zydeco bands on the East Coast traveling all through the Mid-Atlantic region and New England and as far west as Colorado playing at concerts, dances, festivals and fairs. The regular rubboard player, Laura Troiano is the twelve year old daughter of leader and accordion player, Greg "Snakeman" Troiano. She often guest appears with  traveling Louisiana Zydeco bands."
